The way it goes is if you had purchased a tremec 3550 after tremec purchased the transmission company from borg warner. The same gears and sycros as a tko500.

I want to know if there is an h patternstyle five speed with fifth as the overdrive that could handle the horsepower. That all tremec 3550 were sent back to tremec and rebuilt to tko 500 specs except for the input shaft which was still a 10 spline. It was first introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the t 45 five speed. To remedy this builders have been modifying original input shafts by grafting a new 26 spline front onto the gear. These stock shafts tend to shear off when launching a 500 hp car at the drag strip. The friction lining in a stock 3650 on the blocker rings is junk a lot of power and they wont slow down the next gear for a proper shift.
The change happened sometime in the middle of 2001 and ran through to 2004. Im replacing the mtrbut im comming short on with the build and i have to put the t 45 back in along with a 50 charged stroker mtr.
