Ground loops are caused by bonding your radio to the neg side of the battery when the battery is up front and your amp to the body in the trunk. Never ever connect your radio or amp directly to the vehicle battery.

Thanks for the response. All boats will have a primary battery for ignitiion and critical electronics and a second battery for everything else that needs power. Thats how ya get the best ground point for an amplifier. The ground wire goes to the battery luckily the solution is simple. Btw this debate will likely never die on car audio forums.
