Keep your wire runs short as possible and your connections at a minimum and well protected from moisture as high out of the bilge as possible. We do recommend every boat have an automatic float switch feed for the bilge pump but recommend the auto float switch lead be run directly from the boats battery fused of course.

To do it right use marine grade wire. Seems the float is not working as i checked it for continuity but i jumped through the plug that the float connects to and still not working. My experience is that the float switch on the pump is always the first item to go home. Even when the boat power is off the bilge pump should still be able to receive power.
